B&R Research Center

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) represents a pivotal international public good offered by China to the global community and stands as the largest platform for international cooperation. At Dacheng, we are committed to a strategy of "global resources, local expertise," and have accumulated extensive legal service experience through years of assisting our clients in their international ventures. To better serve China's economic construction and openness, and to meet the growing demand for legal services, Dacheng has established the Belt and Road Research Center (the "Center"). This initiative aims to consolidate Dacheng' Belt & Road (B&R) -related legal expertise, form a one-stop legal service team, and enhance our professional capabilities to support B&R projects, thereby delivering greater value to our clients and contributing to the success of the BRI.

The Center is comprised of over 1,100 members, including leading experts and industry frontrunners in fields such as cross-border investment, project financing, mergers and acquisitions, engineering and infrastructure, mining and energy, compliance management, and dispute resolution. These experts embody Dacheng' comprehensive and meticulous approach to servicing Chinese enterprises and the development of B&R partner countries. Dacheng' lawyers frequently appear in significant B&R projects led by Chinese enterprises and are consistently recognized in rankings by esteemed legal directories such as Chambers and The Legal 500.

Our legal services span a wide array of industries, including real estate, construction, manufacturing, mining, energy, telecommunications, media, finance, and technology. The Center is organized into eight regional divisions and ten practice areas to ensure we meet all clients' needs, regardless of location or business type. The regional divisions cover Southeast Asia (including ASEAN countries, Japan, and South Korea), Central Asia (including Mongolia and Russia), West Asia and the Middle East (including India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh), Africa, Europe (including Central and Eastern Europe), Oceania (including Australia, New Zealand, and other Pacific islands), North America (the United States, Canada, and Mexico), and Latin America (Central and South American countries). The practice areas include cross-border investment and mergers and acquisitions, international trade and maritime law, overseas engineering and infrastructure (including overseas industrial park construction), energy and resource development, intellectual property and technology cooperation, finance and capital markets, distressed assets and bankruptcy liquidation, compliance management and international sanctions, cross-border taxation and customs regulation, and cross-border dispute resolution.

Our team of highly skilled and experienced lawyers provides seamless, around-the-clock cross-border legal support, offering the best solutions for any legal challenges our clients might face in various jurisdictions. We are a trusted strategic partner for our clients.

Looking ahead, the Center will continue to collaborate closely with other specialized departments within Dacheng and with our international partners. By integrating professional resources and innovating service models, we aim to deliver unique and competitive legal service solutions to both new and long-standing clients, further enhancing the quality of our legal services and supporting the ongoing success of the Belt and Road Initiative.
