Dentons partners – Risteard de Paor and Diego Pol named among Top 50 Rising Stars by the Iberian Lawyer

The Iberian Lawyer has recognized partners Diego Pol and Risteard de Paor in the Top 50 Rising Stars list – a highlight of the most outstanding lawyers up to 35 years old from the private sector in Spain and Portugal.

According to Iberian Lawyer, the lawyers included in the list “are among the best in the sector for many reasons. They are the future of law firms and, those who have not already made partner, are the ones to come.”

Diego Pol, partner in Dentons’ Barcelona office, is a co-chair of the Europe Compliance practice and leads the Compliance practice in Spain. He advises Spanish and international clients on corporate compliance with regard to anti-corruption laws and regulations (FCPA, UK Bribery Act, Spanish criminal code); export controls; international sanctions; and criminal liability of corporations. He trains management on compliance related issues and helps them develop and implement compliance programs. He has extensive experience on carrying out internal investigations. In addition to his compliance work, Diego advises clients on corporate law and supports them in M&A transactions.

Based in Madrid, partner Risteard de Paor joined Dentons’ International Arbitration practice in January 2020. He is experienced in working at the top level in international arbitration, litigation, commercial, environmental, aviation and regulatory law. With his focus on environment-related disputes involving renewable energy investors, construction companies and parties affected by environmental damage. He also has significant experience in representing clients in disputes in Latin America. Risteard has specialist knowledge of climate change law, and was one of two lawyers nominated by ICC Ireland as a member of the ICC Task Force on Arbitration of Climate Change Related Disputes.
