The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) represents China's pivotal international public offering to the global community and China's largest platform for international cooperation. The 8 regional teams include the Southeast Asia team (also covering ASEAN countries, Japan, and the Republic of Korea), the Central Asia team (also covering Mongolia and Russia), the West Asia and the Middle East team (also covering India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh), the Africa team, the Europe team (including Central and Eastern European countries), the Oceania team (Australia, New Zealand, and other Pacific islands), the North America team (the United States, Canada, and Mexico), and the Latin America team (Central and South American countries). The 10 practice areas include cross-border investment and M&A, international trade and maritime and admiralty law, overseas construction and infrastructure (including overseas industrial park construction), energy and resource development, IP and technology cooperation, finance and capital markets, non-performing assets and bankruptcy liquidation, compliance management and international sanctions, cross-border taxation and customs regulation, and cross-border dispute resolution.
